How to feed food to the Chakras

Many of our  food and eating habits are involved with issues of security, emotional issues, expression or self esteem. Infact there must be time when we might not listen to our instincts and tend to overeat or not be gratitude of what we receive. We forget the way how we interact with our food also tends to affect the way how we feed our chakras. eg: Unable or not wanting to have liquids or water is a clear sign of imbalanced Hara chakra.

The below table highlights ways to promote inorder to feed food to the chakras and make it an interesting experience each time and value the food we eat , the water we drink , air that we breathe and our bodies.

·         Listen to your body- identify the food that makes u feel protected, grounded as opposed to ungrounded & heavy.
·         Avoid protecting oneself by eating unhealthy or undesirable food items, instead listen or see your physical health to identify items what to eat. Instead protect yourself by healthy eating and exercising habits.
·         Since root chakra is about relating and security – eating with close friends or family   or likeminded people help us bring in the thoughts of similar patterns and security.
·         Protein rich food, calcium, minerals, red & black colored food and fruit items.

Svadisthana
Chakra
·         Creation of food with emotions, the way how one creates the food, picks up spices yourself  or the items yourself, experiment with food
·         Learning and engage in creating new & different food items.
·         Paying attention to food selected, created and way how it is eaten. The way how it is eaten- taking smaller and chewing the food, slow eating  , relishing the food
·         Engage in happy and playful eating
·         Beautify the place of eating- new crockery, mats, ambience, aroma, flowers on the table makes the whole experience beautiful.
·         Water, Liquids, Fat –Omega and Orange colored food and fruits.

Manipura chakra
·         Measure what you eat- idea is not the over eat or under eat
·         When fasting eat yellow colored fruits in order to balance the chakra
·         Know when to eat- one should be aware of what fuels one ego and empowers us and in turn gives energy to oneself. Idea is to identify
·         Eating of fibers etc. which involve more work for the digestive system
·         Schedule regular & timely eating habits.
·         Eating sugary and carb rich diet. One needs to be cautious of overeating and inturn blocking the Manipura chakra.

Anahata Chakra
·         Maintaining a kitchen garden – growing fruits and veggies with love and nurturance
·         Serve yourself and your loved ones with food with love and gratitude
·         Share a meal – invite friends, family over for a dinner and cook and serve with lots of love and eat with lots of joy.
·         Cook in a large community kitchen to serve others and poor people- Cooking Langar served in Sikh Gurudwaras is huge act of unconditional love and balancing the chakra
·         Serve your pets and other stray animals with dedication
·         Serve physically and mentally disabled people food with devotion and love.
·         Green Leafy veggies and fruits, food cooked and served with compassion.

Vissudhi Chakra
·         Chew your food well – take smaller bites , the first level of digestion happens in your mouth
·         Try and experiment with variety of food items- honor the food eaten of different taste or culture
·         Sing to the food while cooking, sing or pray before taking your meals, eat food when likeable music playing in the background.
·         Resonate with the food that you eat- the earth elements, the feel of it, and the expression of food.
·         Liquids, Juices, Air, water Plants, green and purple fruits.

Ajna Chakra
·         Eat Healthy fat and food, eat with intuition and clearly knowing what that food item will do to you.
·         Try and eat by 8pm or 2 hours before sleeping. The Jains in India usually don’t eat after sunset and eat right kind of food this helps to keep the third eye active.
·         Eating Organic  & fresh food and avoiding synthetic or preserved food
·         Detoxification of one’s diet
·         Purple colored food items

·         Fasting and praying
·         Going on a detoxification diet
·         Blessing one’s food.
