Laughter and Healing

Laughter is to express certain emotions especially delight by series of spontaenous sounds or to feel triumphant or exultant sense of well being.

Laughter is related to the heart chakra and tends to produce hormones which help the physical, mental and emotional body to return to relaxed state. It tends to jiggle and wiggle and shake our body completely. 

Laughter- the chakra journey 
The whole laughter experience starts at the manipura/solar plexus chakra which opens it- releases the old thoguhts &  patterns,   jiggles the lower chakras aka stimulates the genitals especially , thereby goes up to the heart chakra opens its by couple of diameters and that is when the heart jumps and pumps more blood,  goes upto the throat chakra ( prime location) and gushes the center , this inturn goes upto the third eye chakra and opens it and thats when one it completely opens and one can see stars or vivid colors around in form of specks /sparks and flows all the way up to the Crown chakra and balances it all i.e: clears the mind and help in decision making based on facts not only hope.
I always compare this with the Chinnamasta devi transcendal journey of the spirtual awakening . Refer Chinnamasta- Transcendal awakening

 Since laughter plays such an important role in improving our immunity and releasing fears and old patterns. Here are a few things which can help one to laugh  ( quite simple)-
Bring a smile to someone


  • Reiki- Performing the full body healing and inviting Maitreya - Laughing Buddha and laugh by invoking emotional healing symbol
  • Laughing Yoga or Hasyayoga- Laughter is involuntarily and can be induced. One can perform this yoga indiviually or with a group of people and laugh, else join laughter clubs. A group work always improves cohesiveness and promotes positive attitude.
  • Childlke activities- Do things you used to do as a child eg: playing in parks, watching a funny/kids movie, meet yourchildhood friends, play childhood games, sing children songs, watching comedy serials etc. This will literally bring back happy memories and make you laugh
  • Inner child work- Do a inner child work workshop and get in touch with your core innocent self. 
  • Reading- Read cartoons, jokes, funny illogical emails, have funny posters, keep a mood lifter diary or comic, have a section of funny books in your library.
  • Family and friends- Meet and spend time with your family and friends, this will lighten and relax you and strengthen your bonds. Try playing chilhood pranks :)
  • See yourself as third person- If you are in a stressful situation, see yourself and the state as third person ( very difficult to do) and imagine your life as a comedy story and laugh at it. This could be mometary but will atleast help you in someway.

We always have a choice, try and bring laughter into you life,try something silly, do something for a change that you want to do .... laugh laugh cause it doesnt cost a thing ( no matter how difficult it is right now) it might just make life a bit better than what it is today... Nothing to lose... so smile and laugh :)... Best things in life are free and laughter is just one of them

Healing Headaches by Reiki

" Reiki love please take all my worries and
heal my head ache"
Headache is common phenomenon we all face for some reason or the other. Headache or cephalalgia is pain   anywhere in  the head or neck. Cephalalgia is Greek word which means "kephale" as in head and "algos" as in pain. There are different types of headaches arising due to different reasons commonly stress, tension, reaction, lack of sleep, lack of food/nutrients, sinus, pain in feet, varicose veins etc. So if we look at it most of the reasons of headache are located elsewhere or different chakras too and the head is the one which has to go through the ordeal !!!

There are different positions and meditations to treat headaches and other ailments. Here are the ways to treat a headache using REIKI

a) Tension headaches- Arisen out of stress or too much thinking. Heal the front and back third eye chakra, , heal the crown chakra, heal the temporal nerves on either end by placing two fingers and rest on the head. If it cause of too much work or burden heal the back throat chakra and shoulders.Additionally imagine cutting chords with the tension or problem by using imaginary swords or pins, or press hard the tip of the thumbs clock wise and ant- clock wise with your fingers.

Blue lace agate- very effective for treating headaches
b) Cold/Sinus and Flu headaches- Arisen out of cold and fever, this is when is body is removing toxins. Heal the root chakra- front and back ( if weakness),  healing by placing hands on both the eyes and fingers on the head, cupping both the ears and healing, heal the front heart chakra specifically for sinus and cheat congestion. This helps to promote balance in the body.
c) Lack of sleep or nightmares in sleep- Arisen out of  less sleep or disturbed sleep, this could be cos of too much activity in the mind or negativity around. Lie in a comfortable position and let your body loose, take deep breaths, heal the crown chakra with specifically emotional healing symbol for atleast 5 min, heal the eyes and centre of the head by placing your palms, heal the front and back third eye chakra, after this imagine white and blue light surrounding your head and subsequently your whole body. Additionally if you think this is okay you can try--- place a tumbler of water under your bed, place a knife below the pillow, take you leather shoe or slippers reverse them and keep it under your bed.
d) Healing reaction headaches- This is due to body's reaction due to healing sessions of any modalities. Heal the front and back root chakra, front and back manipura/heart chakra and the front third eye chakra. Best have lots of water and take enough sleep.
e) Migraine Headaches- Arisen out of migraine. Heal the front and back third eye chakra, Heal the manipura chakra- specifically liver, preferably for 4-5 days at a stretch atleast.Additionally usage of specific oils, basil leaves eaten raw, basil oil rubbed, lavender oil, mixing lavender and basil oils, lemon oils.

Specific foods in diets  for treating headaches ( my experience not proven) -  Coffee, almonds, potatoes, spinach , milk with sugar, avoid cold drinks and foods,

 Crystals for headaches-  "amethyst" ( to be used after checking the spin of the chakra), favourite and most effective " rose quartz" , "moonstone" ( check moon cycle by calendar or charts or tarot preferably), "blue agate" ( very good), lapis lazuli, opal, jade and ever lovely -- "QUARTZ".

Chakra/Aura Cleansing before Reiki session


Getting rid of something seen as  unwanted, unpleasant and defiling is cleansing.

Chakra /Aura cleansing therapies ( more imaginary or mental) are mood uplifting therapies which tend to remove negative thought patterns, harmful energies which have accumulated in some chakra area or aura realm due to past experiences or thoughts of future like trauma, unfulfilled desires, relationships, work, spirits etc.
Cleansing leaves with a feeling of contentment and fresh renewed feeling of self and light feeling /less clouded state of mind and spirit. In some ways it helps to cope up with stress. Below are three water (imaginary) element related methods which can be practiced before reiki sessions on a daily basis- to keep in check one's feelings w.r.t negative aspects. I am personally very fond the swimming method in a Sarovar/ Pure Lake . The point is that whatever method you , it should resonate with your energies or easy for you to do or practice

Cleanse

Take bath with rock salt water,
 explore the natural water bodies 
Water fall method
  • Sit comfortably on chair and stand in relaxed mode
  • Take deep breaths for 10 min 
  • Imagine a mountain, rainbow or color and that your standing under a waterfall
  • Keep your intention and feel that the water is is cleansing all the energies, clearing blockages, uplifting the vibrations, removal of toxins from your body. 
  • If you a Reiki healer then you can say the attitude of gratitude and chant the specific chakra mantra for cleansing.
Sarovar ( swimming) method
  • Lie or sit  comfortably on a mat or bed
  • Take deep breaths for 5-8 min or lie in shav asana pose
  • Imagine a lake or sarovar or a religious place with sarovar. Keep your intentions and imagine you are swimming deep in the sarovar and suddenly gush out like mermaid and completely drenched the water and energy of positiveness and increased vibration with you feet feeling cool 
  • Land on the ground of marble with waves of positive energy of the color you like. 

Use chakra mantras by imagining
aquamarine or sea green
color around
Brushing & cleansing with imaginary water method
  •  Stand straight and use both palms of both hands and gently brush off by palms or using a feather from the top of the head to your feet.
  • Then imagine sprinked water or dew drops of purple color falling on you.
  • Keep your intention and feel that all the debris, blockages, toxins are cleaned and you are being transformed
As a a reiki healer or other healing modalities practitioner you can use these water element related methodologies to heal yourself , use it before start of the session on the healee  or suggest to your clients and students to practice.

Chakras- Emotional energy areas

A natural instinct state of mind deriving from one's circumstances, mood or relationships with others is defined as EMOTION. Any feeling which characterizes the feeling of joy, anger, love, guilt, sorrow etc is called as emotion.
It is interesting to note that each emotion corresponds to a specific chakra in turn to a specific organ. It is the emotion that affects the physiology. 


A child's heart is full and purest of all
Each emotion tends to affect another emotion- either by giving rise to another emotion or overcoming another emotion or lowering another emotion. All this leads to one chakra imbalance affecting another chakra


  • Giving rise/feeds to another emotion ( reactive)-  Anger gives rise to joy, joy gives rise to thought, thought gives rise to worry, worry fives rise to fear and fear to anger
  • Overcoming another emotion ( more of imbalance and channeling of energy)-  Anger overcomes thought, thought overcomes fear, fear overcomes joy, joy overcomes worry and hence anger
  • One emotion lowering another emotion- worry reduces joy, joy reduces fear, fear reduces thought, thought reduces anger, anger reduces worry.

Of all the emotions the negative emotions like guilt, worry, sadness etc. are the one's which lead to a large imbalance in the psychological and physiological state of a person/being. Below is a chart which lists the negative emotion area ---chakra and feelings or triggers related to it.

Detoxification by Chakra Oils\Essence


Detoxify-  Physiological or medicinal removal of toxins from the living organism or around.

Detoxification of the body and aura can be done by medicines, alternative healing/medicines and exercises, based on the nature of the discomfort. Oils are one such means to detoxify in body-mind and spirit. Oil Therapy for Chakras is not necessarily a one day method and regular therapy which aids in detoxification.  The Previous post mentions about the various oils /essences for chakras so a combination one/two or more can be made as an essential and utilized for one;s benefit based on the constituents of the oil.

What is important to remember is that oil/essences are either trees/leaves, barks, seeds, flower, root etc. which are diluted by oil/essence makers. One can try and test oils in small quantities but for longer and serious ailments or procedures one must consultant a practitioner.
  • Massage- Massage is one of the best ways of detoxification, different oils are mixed based on the treatment and applied on the entire body or specific parts as required. Different and famous massages are-  Kerala Ayurvedic, Thai Massage, Shiastu Massage, Swedish massage , Water Massage, Hot Stone, Deep Tissue Massage, Face/Foot/Head Massage. Personally Kerala Ayurveda is a great massage.  
  •  Inhale- Inhaling the essential oil/smell can promotes detoxification. There are certain air diffusers/inhalers available, but I prefer inhaling the oil on my palm or lighting specific chakra related incense which purifies the air.
  • Shower- Classic way of detoxification is usage of oils with Epsom salt or normal salt in water during bath. It is supposed to clear the aura and purify the air around onself. Water-Oil – Salt combination is one of the biggest stress buster. For Foot chakra- luke warm water in bucket with Epsom salt and other chakra relates salts and oils opens the foot chakra and detoxifies.
  •  Scrubs or Packs- Usage of Oil with scrubs is good way of detoxifying
  • Lighting a Lamp or Diya of the chakra specific oil and chanting the sound specific to the chakra or meditating 
  • Taking recommended essential oils with food or liquids- Taking Almond oil-5-6 drops in milk with raisin is excellent for hair, joints, skin and bowel movements, usage of olive oil /sunflower oil as cooking oil.
